Collide
love with Renee, that would open her up to that vulnerability all over again. Dana wasn’t sure she would survive if she ever again lost a love like that.
“I don’t know, Renee. I haven’t done this in a long time.”
“Well, I haven’t, either. Hell, I can’t begin to explain where any of these feelings are coming from. But I do know one thing.
This feels good. It feels right.” Renee paused. “Losing Tom as quickly as I did made me realize that life is much too short to not do things that can make you happy. Even though no one wants to admit it, nothing lasts forever. Your relationship with Risa ended.
And what we have here may end, too. But shouldn’t we enjoy what we have today instead of worrying about tomorrow?”
Even though Renee could be a basket case about some things, Dana had a feeling Renee was right about this. How much time had she wasted? Nothing could bring Risa back. If she didn’t wake up and join the living, she might lose Renee, as well.
Dana looked over at Renee. She saw tenderness in her eyes, and suddenly, Dana’s resolve to carry the torch for Risa melted away.
Dana unbuttoned Renee’s blouse and pushed the silky fabric off her shoulders. Renee stood while Dana unzipped Renee’s skirt and let it fall in a puddle at her feet. She held Renee’s hand as she stepped out it.
Dana reached around Renee and with one hand, unfastened the hook on Renee’s bra. Renee let the pink satin bra straps slide down her arms and onto the floor next to her other clothes.
Dana looked at Renee as she stood before her in only her pink silk panties and black high heels.
“My God, you’re beautiful,” Dana whispered.
Renee felt dizzy with desire. Her heart pounded and her breathing came in short gasps.
Renee reached for Dana and quickly pushed the cotton fabric of her dress shirt off Dana’s muscular shoulders. Her hands slid down Dana’s arms and came to rest at the button of Dana’s slacks.
Gingerly, Renee undid the button and slowly unzipped the zipper.
She slid her hand inside Dana’s slacks and was greeted by the warm wetness that made them both groan.
